Hey Horacio Printing Fam,

Jess here! I have been behind the scenes this year, helping with Horacio Printing and sowing into this ministry. I am excited to share more on the HP blog and get to know you!  Last year I shared with you that my word for 2016 was "Prayer". I like having a something as a singular focus whether that is a word or phrase to remember and declare over the year to come.

In 24 hours it will be the New Year and I want to invite you to join me!

What is your word for 2017?

If you need help getting ideas you can either start by filling out your 2017 Bucket List page or use the questions I posted last year:

  • What is something I hope will happen this year?
  • What is something I'm still not good at and want to learn?
  • What is something I'm passionate about?
  • What is one verse that keeps coming to mind from the Bible?
  • What is one word that popped into mind during my prayer time today?

To be honest I haven't had a repetitious word pop into my head during church, or SOAPs, or quiet time with God. This wasn't as easy as last year! But I had been thinking of a sermon that was preached at church and one of the verses hit me. That verse was Mark 9:24 "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!"

I know a lot of times I've doubted that God cared or would come through. I think that's just human nature. I also have seen Him be faithful in difficult times and so it has become a balance where my unbelief cries out but my past answered prayers cry out too.

As I walk into new seasons, both old and new doubts can creep into my beliefs so my word for 2017 is "Belief".

Do you have a doubt that is stealing your joy and momentum? We have a brand new page on our website to help you find a verse to help you overcome any of your fears using the word of God. Check it out here. You can search for verses in relation to many of the common doubts and fears we all face from season to season. God is good and His words are true and full of power.

I would love to read your comments below or you can use the hashtag #HPDeclaration so I can follow along! If you want to be creative you can take a picture of your word or phrase and tag @horacioprinting on Instagram as well!

I can't wait to see what you come up with and what God will manifest using that declaration.

You.Are.Loved.

Love,

Jess

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  Romans 8:38-39

I believe the word that the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart in prayer for this year is “bless!” My desire is to do an extensive word study on this word in Scripture, but I already know what part of this meaning has in my life – I believe the Lord is calling me to BLESS & not curse no matter what type of persecution comes, to BLESS others with my words and countenance (even when I don’t feel like it…and even before I’ve had my coffee ;)!), to be bold and SPEAK BLESSING into people’s lives not from my own authority but through Christ’s authority, to BLESS and lift up others before myself.
All this and so much more! I cannot wait to delve deeper!

Wide open spaces. In light of raising four little boys, developing a ministry and running a business in a world that always is shouting at me “not enough”, the lord has been whispering to me for many months that this new year would be filled with wide open spaces. In addition to scheduling those things that must be done, and even the things I want to to, writing in margin is a practice I am so excited to grow in. Space to listen more intently to God and others and to love more purposely out of the overflow is my deep hope.

My word for 3017 is something I’m trying to remember every day.

ENOUGH

I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, I am ENOUGH just as I am!
