Happy Thanksgiving, friends!

It's Polly here, founder of Horacio Printing, and I just wanted to share a little from my heart as we approach this Thanksgiving season.

Life feels very full right now. Our 2020 Collection launch is underway, I have three speaking engagements in December, our first-ever EPIC dream planning party is just around the corner, and my little baby is now crawling and starting to stand! (AHH!)

Life is full of God miracles, but if I don't stop to see and appreciate them, I will miss the joy of the moment.

Can I be vulnerable with you?

Recently I faced a couple of hard rejections that lead me to feel numb and emotionally strung out. I tend to be a silver lining gal, but sometimes my brain and other people's opinions get the best of me.

I traveled to Utah for a conference to sell my dream planners into a BRAND new market. Apparently no one in Utah had heard of us! So I show up and to make a long story short... I have never faced so much rejection to my face. EVER.

I used to work in sales, so rejection is common for me, but it's different when you sell YOUR product versus someone else's. My heart is in these products. My vision is in these products. I created these with intention. I created these with purpose.

My hardest moment was when one lady asked how low I could go in price, and then if I could go even lower. After going as low as I could go, she sat for a moment and asked my friend Stephanie, "Do you use one?" My friends answered, "yes, of course!"

Then she sat for a moment and asked me, "Do you REALLY use it?"

I was shook. I looked at her and said, 'YES! I created this."

The woman look at me surprised, I guess she thought I worked for Horacio! haha. She certainly didn't understand the value of the product. I started to feel the burning my my throat and fought back the tears.

At the moment, I felt the Lord say in my spirit.
You are better than this. Your value is not how you FEEL right now.

Sidenote: PLEASE do not feel sorry for me at all. God met me right there in my heartbreak and was SO good to me! It was a true Psalms 34:18 moment
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

Here is the BEST PART! Are you ready?

Later as I was processing this moment with this woman and the pain that I felt, I was talking to God and I was retelling the story out loud. When I reached this part of the story and said, "Do you really use it?"

I felt the Lord say in my spirit.

Polly, THIS IS HOW I FEEL!
We look at God our father and say

Do you REALLY want to use me?
Are you really here with me?
Does He really have a purpose for my life?

He says

YES! I created you.
YOUR VALUE IS SO MUCH GREATER THAN YOU KNOW!
You are created with a purpose.
You are built in my image.
I designed you with intention!
I made you so uniquely!
I love you!

Oh what a sweet Father we have!

I am so thankful that

Our weakness has a purpose.
Our failures have a purpose.
Our rejection has a purpose.

Let's look at 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
Paul is speaking about a thorn in his side that he wants to have removed from his life. A weakness he deals with. This is the revelation he receives from God.

"But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

I am SO thankful for the rejection I faced. I believe this is a sign of what is to come. As God promotes you into new levels of leadership, there will be new levels of rejection and difficulty. Are you ready for a promotion? Can you look at your hardships as a lesson to help you with your promotion?

When we are brokenhearted, God is so near. He is so good. He is the living water that sustains us, and for THAT, I am so thankful.

Thankful for grace, grateful for the lessons, thankful for God's strength in my weakness.

I pray you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with you and your family.

You.Are.Loved.

How big is the black leather planner. And vertical vs. horizontal any way I can see that image? Can’t wait to order and get it. Love supporting another great human who spreads the love of God amongst a world that needs Him so very much!

This was such a well written post. It spoke to my heart and I feel for you. The insult that you feel when someone doesn’t “get” your passion is painful and you found perfect Bible verses to align with this feeling. Well said.

Polly…that was a beautifully vulnerable post…God really showed off in offering you the parallel between the products you & Horacio team produces with how God created each of us to be used for Kingdom building – REALLY USED. Your heart for God is inspiring and I am grateful for all the Horacio team does to share the gospel and their love for God! Happy Thanksgiving!

Soooo good! So “right what I needed to hear”. I listened to Amy’s webinar a few days ago; so edifying. I appreciate you both.

Polly,

This is so beautiful, what a “wow” moment that God feels this way about us, and I love that he used that moment of hurt and rejection to reveal His heart for you. Thank you for this word.
